In search of a theoretical framework: Truck leasing and transportation under the North American Free Trade Agreement, in a constructivist view

The theory of capital international relations has been criticized for its high level of abstraction, debates and polemics about seemingly irrelevant ideas that have little application to the real world. Constructivism, as defined by Nicholas Onuf in his rule-orientated constructivism, provides a framework. Using this framework, this dissertation examines truck leasing and transportation as rules based social activity in a cultural, historical and international context, with particular reference to the NAFTA and Mexican-United States relations.
