String Quartets and Symphonies for Propaganda: Music in Europe during WWII

This paper will investigate the relationship between musical compositions and propaganda during the World War II era in Europe and will focus primarily on symphonic works and string quartets. A use of relevant global background information regarding propaganda and music are included in this research. This investigation will focus on specific countries in Europe: Soviet Union, Britain, Germany, and France.
