Abstract
Over the years, minimally invasive spine surgery has become more popular and acceptable to patients because of the reduced morbidity associated with it and a faster return to work after surgery. Endoscopic spine surgery is considered to be at the forefront of minimally invasive spine surgery, as the skin incisions and soft tissue disruption are so minimal that it can be often performed under local anesthesia, and most patients are discharged home on the same day of surgery. With technological advancements in endoscopic spine surgery in terms of optics and the design of surgical instruments, its use has become more widespread over the years. This chapter attempts to cover all the commonly used aspects of endoscopic spine surgery.
