Abstract
Thomas Hodgkin reported the initial cases of this distinct malignant lymphoma in 1832. The term Hodgkin’s disease (HD) was used because of the uncertainty as to whether this entity was a tumor or an infection. Based on the evidence proving that the Hodgkin Reed-Sternberg cell is a B cell, the term Hodgkin’s lymphoma (HL) is the correct term, although physicians are reluctant to change to this terminology
