Abstract
Clinical research is a broad field of investigation that clinicians and scientists should be familiar with for its tremendous impact. This chapter defines clinical research and describes its importance while also delving into its experimental and observational subcategories. Major study design types are also explored and their comparative advantages and disadvantages as well as primary uses are commented upon.
