Abstract

treatment CBT pharmacotherapy social skills training psychosocial treatments acceptance and commitment therapy
Treatment outcome studies for social anxiety disorder have provided consistent evidence for the efficacy of two modalities of treatment: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and pharmacotherapy. Comparison-treatment studies, as well as a meta-analytic review of the treatment outcome literature suggest that, on average, these treatment modalities provide equivalent outcome.
