Abstract
In addition to offering useful clinical recommendations and resources to consider while partaking in the evaluative process, we will discuss the following
fundamental concepts as they apply to cross-cultural encounters with Hispanics: preparation and language proficiency, acculturation, the use of interpreters
and translators, documentation, clinical interview and feedback sessions, and test
versions and norms. A final section will be dedicated to revealing systemic concerns related to the education and training of Hispanic neuropsychology trainees
into formal training programs. Recommendations are propounded concerning
related efforts that can increase the quality of training and the quantity of future
cross-culturally trained neuropsychologists.
