Abstract
LASIK is the most common refractive surgery performed all around the world. Epithelial ingrowth is a rare complication which usually occurs by postoperative invasion rather than by intraoperative implantation, which suggests that the quality of the flap edge and its apposition are very important [1]. In this case, the isolated island of epithelial ingrowth is located in the visual axis, visualized on postoperative day one, without any epithelial flap edge defect suggesting it was caused by intraoperative implantation.
