Abstract
Describes some of the more common issues and dynamics in various groups that we have observed while using the B-SMART intervention. Second, we present commentaries from B-SMART participants at various stages of the intervention, focusing on their thoughts about the impact of the intervention as the 10-week program concluded and at 3-, 6-, or 12-month follow-ups. In addition, the chapter discusses some common issues encountered by group leaders, such as countertransference issues and feelings that can result from working with patients with breast cancer. Specific case examples are used. Names and other potentially identifying characteristics have been altered for confidentiality. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2009 APA, all rights reserved)
