Obtaining a full history is important for treatment and possible medicolegal implications.A detailed description of the injury may help ascertain the material and size of the IOFB (copper, iron, vegetable matter, etc.). Multiple foreign bodies may be present in certain events such as explosions and firearm injuries. A thorough examination of both eyes and adnexa is recommended.
