Abstract
Treatment of abnormal scars, such as hypertrophic scars, vascularized hypertrophic scars, keloids, post-acne scars, and atrophic scars, consists of various therapies (intralesional corticosteroids, interferon, topical retinoids, excisional surgery, etc.). Treatments by laser systems such as 10,600-nm ablative CO2 laser, 10,600-nm fractional microablative CO2 laser, 595-nm pulsed dye laser (PDL), and near- and medium-infrared sources, however, are very effective.
