Abstract
The older paradigm for cosmetic surgery was aggressive, surgical and resurfacing procedures for significant facial and photoaging skin with major cosmetic results, 4 to 6 week down times
and risk factors. This was during our era where cosmetic patients
were only of an affluent class, scheduled a major “make-over” and
planned for a prolonged recovery. Patients kept their procedures
secretive but reemerged at a later date looking not only younger
but “different”.
