Abstract
From a holistic perspective these mechanisms are reflected in the organization
of hierachical controls that regulate adaptation (Miller, 1978; Schwartz, 1982;
Tapp & Warner, 1984). Control systems have evolved to regulate and promote
the stability of living systems at each and all levels of their operations. This is an
axiomatic assertion supported by the existence of living systems and their capacity to resist entropy. It is essential to the development of a holistic, heirarchical,
multisystems model.
