Enucleation, which is defined as the whole globe removal, is a common and sometimes lifesaving procedure in ophthalmology. Enucleation is performed along with primary implant insertion in most cases to maintain the orbital volume and to improve cosmetic outcomes. A good surgical technique is essential to reduce the rate of socket and implant complications.
