Abstract

A laser is only as safe or hazardous as how it is handled; the user’s knowledge and skill define how well and safely a clinical practice operates. Proper safety management requires a fourfold approach, including knowledge of standards, identification of hazards and risks, implementation of appropriate control measures, and consistent program audits and management.
