Abstract
Treatments may be once or twice per day depending on the severity and type of
wound. Necrotizing infections are usually treated twice per day at least initially. Outcome data in diabetic foot ulcerations show that the average number of treatments in
patients who benefited was 35 and diminishing returns are reached at approximately
40 treatments (31). Appropriate use of HBO2T requires the direct and frequent input
of a trained hyperbaric physician.
