Abstract
Pruritus, or itch, is a frequent symptom in dermatology, general practice, and other fields of medicine. Chronic itch usually forms a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. In the last decade, significant advancement has been achieved in awareness for itch, and new epidemiological studies and treatments have been published.
This chapter presents an overview of different forms of common systemic pruritus and their diagnostic measures and treatment options.
