Abstract
In the last several decades, operative laparoscopy has become an accepted alternative approach to traditional laparotomy. Robotic systems enhance the surgeon's ability to manipulate instruments, scale movements so that large movements of the control grips are transformed into micromotions within the patient, and restore hand-eye coordinarion. This modality has significantly impacted minimally invasive surgery for patients with gynecologic malignancies, and this chapter provides an overview of the current utilization.
