Abstract
Itch is a predominant symptom of scabies, but its public health burden was underappreciated for a long time. The mechanism of scabies itch is not yet fully understood, and treatment remains challenging. In this chapter, we offer an overview of the scope of itch in scabies and highlight candidate mechanisms underlying this itch. Also, targeted treatment modalities that possess promising perspectives for scabies itch are discussed.
