Abstract
Precisely because Star Trek’s creators seek to sensitively portray and maneuver around Klingon prejudices, through this franchise the viewer can see that a polity based on prejudices is undesirable—whereas one informed by reason (Marxism) is inspirational. More specifically, the Star Trek text indicates that societies based on prejudices are subject to racism/xenophobia, as well as political stagnation/instability. In contrast, societies based on reason (i.e., the Federation) are politically/socially vibrant and thrive.
