Abstract
The purpose of this study is to create a performance guide and resource for the horn player preparing for a ballet orchestra audition as well as the freelance musician who needs to know this less commonly studied repertoire. Each ballet work represented in this study will include a variety of resources including excerpts, scores, recommended audio and/or video recordings, composer background, repertoire history and important points of performance practice. This study will also set a pedagogical approach applicable to other repertoire outside the purview of this study.
