Abstract
This research discusses and examines the effectiveness of a variety of methods that are drawn from diverse professional sources and organized into nineteen categories to assist musicians with efficient practice routines. In order to ensure that these methods work effectively, the author explored and examined the results of the experimentation and implementation of each of the conceptual practice methods, as discussed in Chapter Four. Although there was a significant amount of time involved in tracking the journey of this process, which took years to complete, the author was able to test each method, enduring all the obstacles to establish the most effective practice method. The goal of this project is to share the research findings, with regards to the behind-the-scenes preparation in order to facilitate better, more efficient practice routines for other musicians. This research has provided valuable insight into the author’s own practice, which in turn facilitated an honest critique of the strengths and weaknesses faced in her everyday practice. Admittedly, acknowledging the reality of the struggles and challenges encountered throughout the process will enable ways for others to learn from the mistakes and experience arising from this research, and also to apply each aspect to their own practice.
