Abstract
A series of interviews were conducted with fourteen double reed businesses located within the United States of America, to identify how the double reed industry changed from 2018-2023. The population within this doctoral essay was limited to double reed businesses that sold oboe and/or bassoon reeds or cane. It was proven that COVID-19 had a significant impact on the sales, marketing, supply chain and profit margins of these double reed businesses from 2018-2023. The trends discovered by this research resulted in an overall negative effect that COVID-19 had on the American double reed industry.
