Abstract
This document presents the creative process that brought together Paisaje Colombiano, a work for double bass, percussion, and electronics based on photography by four Colombian photographers. First, I introduce the artists who are part of the project and share their experiences and perspectives with respect to Paisaje Colombiano. After that, I explain the collaborative work involved in creating a project comprised of multiple artists, more specifically, the discussions between them as they look for the best way to musically express the meaning of the photography. Subsequently, the document presents a concise analysis and description of the pieces, the conception of the electronic sounds, and the interaction between the performers and the electronics. I also demonstrate many of the extended techniques and sound effects used in these compositions. Finally, I explain the rationale behind the set up and staging used for this unique performance.
