Abstract
The purpose of this study is to create a guide to the oboe opera excerpts most often requested at auditions. The performers guide will include information from a variety of sources including scores, video recordings, audio recordings, translations, composer history, and information on performance practice. The performers guide will provide an informed and efficient audition preparation method for the oboist. This study will also result in a method applicable to excerpts outside the scope of this study.
