Abstract

Computer composition (Music) Sound Recording and reproducing Digital techniques.
Four Compositions and Analysis is a study of four projects I have written representing a variety of formats that I have studied during my coursework at the University of Miami. The first, "Persenco," is a Persian-flamenco piece that was organically composed using only sampled sounds. The second, "Anything and Everything," is a pop song written for vocals, guitars, bass, and drums. The third, is an orchestral score for the beginning of the independent film, "Forever Man." The final project, is a radio spot with programmed music and voiceovers for "Premiere Center." In this study, I will analyze some of the more important compositional processes as well as the recording techniques that I used while producing these four works.
