Abstract

MIM JUNCTIONS DESIGN SAMPLE HOLDERS LOW TEMPERATURE INELASTIC SCATTERING PHYSICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION ELECTRON TUNNELING SPECTROSCOPY
A sample holder with an adjustable mask area (4 mm2 to less than 0.01 mm2) for vacuum metal deposition at low temperature is reported. This simple system is designed for inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy but can be used for various kinds of four point junctions. The design allows for easy dismantling and cleaning of the device.
