Abstract
Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) are an important tool for undersea tasks, such as survey, inspection, and repair, because they have greater speed, endurance, and depth capability than human divers. In this paper a telerobotic underwater vehicle being designed is described, and some current research work, including results, toward achieving a high degree of autonomy for this vehicle are presented.
