Abstract
This paper describes the significant influence that Operations Research/Management Science has had on American management. Specific examples of this influence in three well-known United States corporations are discussed. The three corporations which were selected are Burger King Corporation, Citgo Petroleum Corporation and Ryder Systems. Implications concerning the general impact of OR/MS in US industry are also discussed.
