Abstract
The Convention on Biological Diversity held its eleventh Conference of the Parties (COP-11) in Hyderabad, India, on 819 October. Several of the decisions from COP-11 were related to coastal management. Decision XI/15 focused on island biodiversity and urged governments, nancial institutions, and international organizations to implement the program of work on island biodiversity. It also encouraged parties to link biodiversity conservation strategies and action plans with plans of other key sectors, including integrated marine/coastal management.
