Abstract
During fall 2008, 10 roundtable discussions involving 70 practicing dermatologists and a physician assistant were conducted across the United States to address patient considerations and treatment strategies for acne vulgaris. A case study format was used to initiate discussion. This supplement is based on the issues raised during the roundtable discussions and at a final working session among the authors where suggestions, trends, and the consensus from each of the 10 roundtable discussions were reviewed regarding published, evidence-based recommendations for treating acne vulgaris. Effective treatment of acne vulgaris can prevent adverse emotional sequelae and physical scarring.
