Abstract

Development communication involves the strategic use of communication for the alleviation of social problems in evolving societies. As such it is an area where questions about the role(s) of media in encouraging or inhibiting social change are absolutely central. In this essay, I review some of the central problems in designing comunication campaigns for social change in developing countries.
