Heterotic-string anomalies in (1,0) superspace

Abstract

The supergravitational and super-Weyl anomalies of the heterotic string are computed using the background field method for (1,0) superfield supergravity. The cancellation, at the critical dimension, of the full super-Weyl anomaly is an automatic consequence of our supergraph calculation. The (1,0) superfield action is also given for the “bosonic formulation” of the heterotic string.
