Abstract
The mitochondrial respiratory chain is believed to dynamically arrange in suprastructures known as supercomplexes or respirasomes, though their function remains elusive. A recent study in Science (
Lapuente-Brun et al., 2013
) now reports that dynamic supercomplex assembly determines electron flux from different substrates through the respiratory chain.
