Abstract

We demonstrate the successful use of a commercially available optical coherence tomography (OCT) system towards molecular histopathology utilizing functionalized gold nanorods as molecular beacons to image ocular surface squamous neoplasia. Future work will focus on expanding the diagnostic capabilities of OCT by achieving optical biopsy with molecular specificity.
