Abstract

Medical research Streptococcus infections
Because our study included all patients with endophthalmitis caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae (including cases associated with trauma, corneal ulcer, endogenous spread, filtering blebs, and so on), it is not surprising that the mean age of the patients in our study is younger than that in the Endophthalmitis Vitrectomy Study, which included only patients who developed endophthalmitis after cataract surgery or secondary intraocular lens implantation.
