Abstract
n 2018, KDIGO issued a clinical practice guideline forthe prevention, diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment ofhepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in patients with chronickidney disease.1Recently, KDOQI published a commen-tary on the KDIGO guideline in which members of theappointed group disagreed with Recommendation 4.2.2 todirect HCV nucleic acid test (NAT)-positive kidneys toHCV NAT-positive recipients.2They commented thatrecent studies demonstrated viral eradication with direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) in HCV NAT-negative patientswho received HCV NAT-positive kidneys, thus providingevidence that such kidneys could be allocated to any re-cipients regardless of their HCV status.2This is animportant issue that deserves clarification
