Abstract
This study examined the relationships among IQ, education, and intra-subtest scatter on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale in a sample of schizophrenic patients. It was predicted that scatter would be greatest in Ss having high IQ and low educational level and in those having a low IQ and high educational level. Results failed to support these hypotheses, but indicated that Comprehension, Similarities, and Vocabulary subtest scores of high-IQ Ss had significantly more scatter than those of low-IQ Ss. Also, Ss of high educational level showed significantly more scatter on Information than Ss of low educational level. The implications of these results were discussed in terms of possible response patterns of Ss high in IQ and education.
