Abstract

Contact lenses Disease control Epidemics Eye diseases Ophthalmology Public health
In April 2006, CDC reported on an ongoing multistate investigation of Fusarium keratitis occurring predominantly among contact lens wearers. Here, an update that summarizes epidemiologic developments in this investigation, which indicate an association with Bausch & Lomb's ReNu with MoistureLoc contact lens solution, is presented. Fusarium keratitis is a fungal infection of the cornea, preceded usually by trauma to the eye.
