Abstract
For the two-month course of this internship, I examined ways the reticulated python (Malayopython reticulatus) utilized its habitat by introducing different elements over time and seeing if the python had a positive or negative reaction to the elements placed within the habitat. I also recorded guest behavior to determine how they reacted to the snake and the enclosure. This internship addressed different needs of the python in accordance with the improvement of the python’s habitat. My study will also show what actions the Alligator Farm can take to further improve the habitat for both the python and guests. Once my project was almost concluded, I conducted further research by contacting other zoos to gather additional information about their reticulated pythons. Specifically, what they feed their pythons and how often.
