Abstract
Located in Kauai, Hawaii, Minnowtech is a Biotechnology company that is currently in the expansion and trial phases. As an Aquaculture Technology Intern,I had the responsibilities and tasks of assisting the CEO/Founderand other team membersin the finalization of the technology known as the BRS-1. The BRS-1 is the first automated biomass estimator on the market designed for shrimp aquaculture. The primary objective was to aid in the successful completion of the current form of the technology, its services, and help in the successful next phase of the company’s development. The internship was important because Minnowtech has developed an innovative technology tool to be used in shrimp aquaculture and directly benefit producers. Having the biomass data allows the shrimp farmer to have complete control over feed titrations, harvest predictability, survivability monitoring, and much more.
