Abstract
This project report focuses on conservation, coastal resilience, and climate change mitigation efforts in South Florida, undertaken in collaboration with the Urban Paradise Guild (UPG). South Florida’s unique ecosystems face significant threats from invasive species and rising sea levels, necessitating robust conservation strategies. The project aims to restore critical habitats through the removal of invasive species, replanting native vegetation, and implementing green infrastructure initiatives. Additionally, the project includes an educational component to raise community awareness about the Florida Reef and promote sustainable practices. Key outputs include habitat restoration, community engagement, and development of educational materials. Insights for future work highlight the need for sustainable funding, policy advocacy, and increased community involvement to support ongoing conservation efforts in South Florida.
