Abstract
The Community Health Project visualizes neighborhood-level health data to promote more datadriven
community development and health solutions for the City of Miami Gardens and Little
Havana. Developed by University of Miami (UM)’s Office of Civic and Community Engagement
(CCE) in collaboration with the UM Center for Computational Science, with support from the
Health Foundation of South Florida, the platform enables community groups, service providers,
and planners to map various community-level social determinants of health, including
healthcare access, housing conditions, and public safety information. The Community Health
Project contains over 20 data filters to assist public health and analysis for two of Miami’s most
significant communities.
