Research Interests: Molecular Mechanisms that Regulate Cellular Dysfunction and Death Following CNS Injury; Mechanisms to Promote Regeneration and Recovery

My laboratory has focused on four specific areas of interest: (1) identifying a novel mechanism of cell death; (2) stabilizing synaptic connections and re-establishing new synapses; (3) promoting angiogenesis; and (4) enhancement of adult neurogenesis.

Specific Research Areas Of Interest Include:

  1. Synaptic Protection and Regeneration
  2. Dependence Receptor Cell Death
  3. Adult Angiogenesis
  4. Adult Neurogenesis

Were interested protecting and regenerating the CNS after traumatic injury. We examine novel mechanisms of cell death, adult neurogenesis, angiogenesis and synaptogenesis using cellular and molecular strategies, cutting-edge imaging techniques, electrophysiological, anatomical and behavioral methodologies, and transgenic mouse models.
