During his training, Dr. Sosenko’s particular clinical and research interests were in diabetes.
One of Dr. Sosenko’s main research interests has been risk factors of the complications of diabetes.
Dr. Sosenko has long been interested in issues that involve the protection of human research subjects.
His most recent interest has been the study of the metabolic natural history prior to the onset of type 1 diabetes, and the prediction of that disorder.
He has published papers that include such topics as lipids in diabetes, capillary basement membrane thickness, microalbuminuria, and diabetic foot ulcers. He has published a number of papers from his studies of diabetic neuropathy, including the first that identified height as a risk factor for that condition.
