Expertise

Dr. Laura Chamorro Dauer is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Pediatrics Hospitalist Medicine Section. She is double board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric hospital medicine. She is a proud triple hurricane as she completed her undergrad, medical school, and residency at the University of Miami.

After her residency, she was a chief resident of Holtz Children’s Hospital where she focused on shaping graduate medical education and proving support for the residents.

Dr. Chamorro also has a passion for undergraduate medical education as she been the course director for the “Art of Medicine” course and most recently as the Director of Student Services and Wellness. In this role, she focused on medical student professional identity formation, coaching and career development. She is an Academic Pediatric Association ESP scholar and has received numerous teaching awards.

Her clinical focus has been focused on the care of complex pediatric patients, adolescents, and newborns. Her research interests include communication particularly transitions of care, standardization of asthma management and breastfeeding.
