Abstract
Electron microscopic study of 3 cases of encephalopathy and fatty degeneration of the viscera and light microscopic evaluation of 6 additional cases showed fatty accumulation in myocardial fibers affecting primarily the atria and Purkinje fibers, and in lesser degree, the ventricular musculature. The sinus and atrioventricular nodes showed no anatomic alterations.
