Dotun is a Physician-Neurologist and Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (by examination/dissertation). He completed postgraduate neurology residency training (2017 - 2024) at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria where he was Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine.

‘Dotun believes that research and clinical care solutions are not mutually exclusive. As a Physician-Scientist, he uses evidence-driven, scientifically rigorous methods to drive clinical research, teaching and patient outcomes.

His research interests explore the intersection between vascular neurology, cognitive neuroscience and genomic medicine. His clinical impressions have been published in several peer-reviewed journals (including The BMJ, The Lancet, Stroke, Alzheimers and Dementia).
